AIPS Centennial Celebration – UNESCO, Paris 2024

The International Sports Press Association (AIPS) marked its 100th anniversary with a landmark celebration at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris during the 2024 Olympic Games. The event honored a century of excellence in sports journalism, tracing its roots back to the 1924 Olympic Games, which were also held in Paris.
Highlights included:
 

  • Tributes to Muhammad Ali and Serena Williams as the greatest athletes of the century

    Lifetime Achievement Awards for journalists who covered 10+ Olympic Games

  • Special appearances by Olympic legends including Dr. Edwin Moses, Nadia Comaneci, Kip Keino, Daley Thompson, Lord Coe, and Sir Chris Hoy

  • A dynamic performance by Kataklò dance troupe, celebrating AIPS’s Parisian origins
